Heckler (1999)

GX Jupitter-Larsen's favorite heckler was one he encountered in San Jose on June 25 1999. An anonymous young man emerged from the audience wearing a hand-drawn t-shirt depicting, among other things, a caricature of GX. He proceed to march up and down, yelling into a funnel all the reasons he hated The Haters. After a few minutes he just walked out of the gallery without any further clarification to the matter. Well done sir...!!! Whoever you are...

I have no idea who this person is. But (if I may begin a sentence with but) I hate that Soundgarden spinoff band called Hater. Or for that matter, any band who lazily names itself after another band. (Especially when that other band is relevant, longstanding, and undoubtedly more interesting.) Automatically I figure that if the perpetrators can't be bothered to have a remotely unique name, then their sounds will be creatively lacking as well. So far, this reasoning has held up 100% of the time. Back to the guy in the picture...great job snapping the photo on short notice. I am a Haters fan already, but I like most any band who can piss off an audience. Still not sure what his basis is, though. General frustration, I take it.
