Drunk On Decay (San Francisco, 1998)

On this day (jan 29) in 1998, in San Francisco, the very last live rendition of Drunk On Decay was performed. Most every time the piece was done, the amplified tin funnel was hung from something bigger than the time before. This time it was a truck on a hoist. The next time was supposed to be a house lifted off its foundation. It hasn't happen yet, but it still could.

The Grinding Gig (Denver, 1993)


On Jan 23 1993 in Denver, two members of The Haters, each with a live mic in hand, stood on either side of a duel-wheel bench-grinder mounted on a small table in the middle of a club stage. Sparks were flying as their microphones were slowly pushed into the grinding wheels. A third member electrically manipulated the motor sounds from the grinder into an oscillation of thick distortion.
